Littering is prohibited. Anyone caught disposing of personal trash on the trail will be disqualified from the race.
Stay on the designated trail.
Obey trail signs from land agencies and private landowners.
Know your course and follow your course markings.
Course cutting is a huge no-no. Any inquiries from other runners will be investigated and a decision from the race director will be made within 48 hours from the end of the last race.
Announce yourself to other runners. Shall you want to pass, say “On your left” and wait for the impeding runner to slow or move over so that passing is safe.
“Heads-up” – Trail runners often will run with their head downs. The most important time to have your head up is going uphill so as not to be impacted by downhill runners or cyclists.
Downhill runners have the right-of-way. Please move over to allow for safe passing.
Respect all park goers. Just because PCTR has a permit to produce an event, it does not give you the right to be rude or disrespect other park goers.
Yield to animals such as horses, goats, sheep, cows and other livestock. Do not run fast at them or by them. They may react in a way that risks harm to you and others.
In some cases, PCTR races have their own specific set of rules. Please read all information provided and make sure to attend the pre-race briefing 15 minutes before your race.
Runner Crews are also responsible for following PCTR and park rules. Any rules broken by crews may lead towards a runner being disqualified.
Thank your volunteers at every moment possible.
Smile endlessly and don’t take yourself too seriously.
